What does laser hair removal feel like?
Due to the high technology and advanced integrated cooling system of the Elysion Pro, it minimises any pain and protects the skin making the process pretty much pain free. Cooling gel is also used and if anything it may feel like an elastic band snapping on your skin but many don’t feel any discomfort.
What body parts can laser be used on?
Laser hair removal is used to treat most areas of the body other than the eyelid and surrounding area and lips. Common areas to treat include the face, chin, underarm, arms, chest, back, abdomen, bikini line and legs. Skin with tattoos, infection or a skin condition should not be treated.
Can you treat grey/fair/red hair?
No, lasers can only target hair which has an element of pigment in it. Grey/fair hair has very little or no pigment and red hair has a different pigment altogether so the treatment will not work.
Can you treat all skin types?
Almost yes, the Elysion Pro diode laser are the “gold standard” for most skin types. However depending on the darkness of the skin and the area being treated, if I am unable to treat you I will suggest that you look for a different type of laser specifically designed for your skin type.
Do you offer your service to men and women?
Laser hair removal treatments can be performed on both men and women and I am very happy to treat both.
Do you treat under 18’s?
No, I am unable to treat any minors under the age of 18 due to legal and insurance purposes.
How many treatments will I need?
It is recommended that between 6-10 sessions on average will be required to treat most areas however different factors apply to each individual. Some areas are more stubborn meaning it takes longer than others. Excessive hair growth from medical conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome can be effectively managed using laser hair removal but may require more sessions than usual.
How long does each treatment take?
Treatments can take anywhere between 10 minutes and 1 hour depending on the area being treated. Some of this time is used to prepare and clean up the area so actual laser time can be very quick.
How often will each treatment be?
Depending on the area you are having treated, most facial treatments have a 4 week interval and treatments on the body have a 6 week interval. Your hair grows in a cycle called Anagen (active phase), Catagen (transition phase) and Telogen (resting phase). The laser beam only works on hairs in the Anagen phase where the hair is actively growing hence the need for multiple sessions to catch all of the hairs at the right stage.
Do I need to let my body hair grow before a treatment?
Luckily no!! You will need to shave the area the night before/morning of your treatment.
Does laser treatment damage the skin?
Laser hair removal is safe and treatments using Elysion Pro minimises any side effects such as skin reddening, residual or perifollicular erythema. This means your favourite method of getting rid of unwanted hair won’t harm your skin!
What are the benefits of laser hair removal?
Most laser hair removal devices offer excellent results in permanent hair reduction. The Elysion Pro which is used at Bare Skin Studio uses innovative technology that achieves excellent results and adapts to the conditions and needs of each person.
