Laser technology effectively targets unwanted hair almost anywhere on the body. It is most effective when performed over a series of sessions, between 6-10 are normally recommended.
This is because hair grows in cycles and the laser is most effective at targeting the hair follicles during the active growth phase (anagen phase) and not all hair is in the same phase at once.

Laser Treatments

Face - upper lip, chin, cheeks, sideburns, jawline and neck
Laser treatments on the face are a popular and effective way to address unwanted hair and achieve smooth, hair-free skin. These treatments are suitable for both men and women and can be customised to target specific areas based on individual preferences.
Facial hair typically grows at a faster rate than hair on other parts of the body so sessions are usually scheduled every 4 weeks.
Since facial hair is more delicate, the advanced laser technology used at Bare Skin Studio is designed to be gentle, yet highly effective with minimal discomfort.

Upper body - chest, back, shoulders, underarms and abdomen
Laser hair removal on the upper body is a highly effective way to achieve long lasting smoothness and reduce the need for traditional hair removal methods.
Due to the varying hair density and growth cycles on the upper body, sessions are typically 6 - 8 weeks apart. This interval ensures that the laser targets hair during it's active growth phase (anagen phase), maximising the effectiveness of each treatment. Most clients will need 6 - 10 sessions for optimal, long lasting results.
Lower body - legs, bikini line, buttocks, toes
Laser hair removal on the lower body is an excellent option for achieving long lasting smoothness and reducing the need for frequent hair removal.
Due to thicker and coarser hair typically found on the lower body, sessions are generally 6 - 8 weeks apart. This interval ensures that the laser targets hair during it's active growth phase (anagen phase), ensuring optimal results. Most clients will need 6 - 10 sessions for maximum, long-term hair reduction.

Certain medical conditions can affect the effectiveness and safety of laser hair removal treatments. It is important to discuss your medical history during the consultation to ensure the best and safest results.
Hormonal Imbalances:
Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or thyroid disorders can cause excessive hair growth (hirsutism) or hormonal fluctuations. This may result in more sessions or continuous maintenance sessions being needed.
Autoimmune and Skin Conditions: Conditions like vitiligo, lupus or eczema can make the skin more sensitive or prone to reactions. Laser treatments may need to be adjusted or avoided in affected areas to minimise irritation or adverse effects.
Photosensitivity Disorders:
Some conditions or medications (such as certain antibiotics or acne treatments) can make the skin more sensitive to light increasing the risk of burns or pigmentation changes. Always disclose any medications you are taking before and during your treatments.
Keloid Scarring or Hypertrophic Scars:
Individuals prone to keloid formation may have an increased risk of developing raised scars after laser treatment, especially if the skin is irritated or injured.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Whilst there is limited research on laser hair removal during pregnancy, it is generally recommended to postpone treatments as a precaution. Hormonal changes during and after pregnancy can also temporarily affect hair growth patterns.
